Samuel Randall Jr Obituary

Samuel James Randall, Jr., 93, Husband, Father, and dear friend too many, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023, at his home in south Euclid, Ohio.

Sam was born December 5, 1929, in Camden, New Jersey to the union of Samuel Randall, Sr., (deceased) and Alma (deceased), Samuel and his younger sister Katherine Hanson (deceased) were raised by their father and grandmother.

After serving time in the Coast Guard and Marines Sam made his way to Cleveland, Ohio. There, Sam had serval different careers, including the Shaker Heights Country Club. He was a supervisor for the United States Postal Service where he would eventually retire. Sam also dabbled as the owner of a men's formalwear store, Gingiss Formalwear, that he purchased with his best friends. His most recent job was as a parking attendant at University Hospitals where he enjoyed working so much that he rarely called off. Sam worked there until a few years ago.

During his time at the post office Samuel met Velva and they became friends. They reconnected later in life and began their courtship through their love of bowling, participating on many leagues together. They fell in love and were married March 4, 1994. Samuel became a loving stepfather, grandfather and great grandfather to Velva's children, Keith, Michael, Kim, Michelle, Kelly, Mark and Governor. He was loved very much by all.

Samuel was a man of leisure he enjoyed time at home watching his favorite westerns and martial arts movies The IP Man. He loved to eat often remarking to his wife 'Can I get a meal under my belt?' or "Is it in the micro baby?' He remained an avid walker for as long as his health allowed, often leaving his wife behind because she couldn't keep up. Sam enjoyed gathering with his lifelong friends, Donald, Harry, and Richard and they spent countless hours fellowshipping and playing poker. A man of GOD, Sam read his bible daily and was a long-standing member of Good Shephard Baptist Church.

Samuel passed at home watching Lebron beat Golden State. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Velva, Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His son Aaron. His sister Katherine's (deceased) 4 children, Terrence (deceased). Jeffrey, Karen, and Cheryl and a host nieces and nephews.
