Beverly Ann (Harris) Chisholm was the first child born to George & Dorothy Harris on April 27, 1940, in Youngstown, Ohio.
The family moved to Cleveland in 1941. Beverly attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from John Hay High School in January 1958.
Beverly joined Second Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in 1954 and was active in the Senior Guild, Laveda Circle, Neal Gospel Choir, Mass Choir, was church clerk for several years, and worked for the church for seven years after her retirement from the East Ohio Gas Company in 1995. She was also involved in the outreach ministry, managing the Hunger Center and the Shoes & Clothes for Kids program.
She married Walter Chisholm in 1965 and they had been married for 41 years when he transitioned in 2006. To that union came two children; Leslie Marcus and Marquita Yvette. Walter and Beverly were both members of The Inspirational Choir of Cleveland for over 50 years.
In 2007 Beverly was reacquainted with her first love and high school sweetheart, Stephen Johnson. The two became inseparable. They looked out for each other in their later years until sadly, Steve went home to be with the Lord in May of 2022.
Beverly leaves to mourn her passing, her son Leslie and daughter, Marquita Chisholm. One brother, Charles Harris (Dianne) and two sisters, Cheryl Blockson and Linda Harris. Her brother George preceded her in death. She also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, seven grandchildren. Three great-grandchildren and many friends including her best friend, Lynette McWilliams and her "Sister-Cousin" Estella Fortson.
